Players from the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils Mens hockey team took time out of their busy practice schedule to get together with students from the Upward Bound Program at SUNY Fredonia. The Upward Bound Program students and staff have been collecting donations for the American Cancer Society to help the team with their efforts in the “Power Plays for Cancer”.
FREDONIA, N.Y. — Jan. 29, 2009 —The College Tutoring Services office (CTS), together with the Learning Center, the Full Opportunity Program, Disability Support Services for Students and the Educational Development Program, is now hiring students to join its tutoring staff for the 2009/2010 academic year. CTS tutors are paid an hourly wage to work a scheduled number of hours, from 2 to 6 p.m., for drop-in students at the Learning Center or in one-on-one hourly sessions with specific students assigned by the program. “Working as a tutor not only pays but has proven to be a golden credential for students seeking admission to graduate programs, competing for jobs, fellowships and teaching positions,” said Learning Center Director Liza Smith. Applications are available in the Educational Development Program Office, the Learning Center, and online at www.fredonia.edu/tlc. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 13 by 5 p.m. All applications must be submitted to the Learning Center on the fourth floor of Reed Library. FREDONIA, N.Y. — Jan. 29, 2009 — The Employee Assistance Program Committee at SUNY Fredonia is looking for community organizations to be participants at its annual Wellness Fair, being held on Thursday, March 26 in the SUNY Fredonia Williams Center Multipurpose Room from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Wellness Fair at SUNY Fredonia is one of the largest in Chautauqua County. It provides SUNY Fredonia faculty, staff, students and community members with important health and wellness information. The fair also gives local organizations an opportunity to showcase their services and/or products, free-of-charge.
