On Monday, Feb. 23, at the next International Brown Bag luncheon, Ellie Reddy (College of Education) will talk about the Belize Project, which is an international service-learning experience for Fredonia students. The event is located in Fenton Hall Room 127 (English Reading Room). All are welcome.

SUNY Fredonia has announced a series of five presentations starting Monday, Feb. 2, designed to share the teaching and research experiences of Fredonia faculty members who have recently traveled abroad. Dr. Cheryl Drout opens the series with a talk on Japan.
A Chinese New Year celebration will be held on Monday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Sponsoring the event are students in the Chinese Club, Foreign Language Club, and International Club.

Dr. John Liontas of the Department of Language, Learning and Leadership at SUNY Fredonia delivered a keynote address in Taiwan at the International Conference on Multimedia Language Education recently, where he was also honored with an award. Four seniors at SUNY Fredonia have raised $600 to send to a foundation in Ecuador. The money-raising effort was named AMIGOS (A Mission In Giving Opportunities to Students) and was a project for Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE). The foundation, La Fundación Crecer, is an organization whose central purpose is to provide poor Ecuadorian children with an education.
Seniors Atira Hepworth , Zach Kwarta and Mary Meyer successfully completed the challenge in the fastest time, winning first place. Claiming second place were seniors Holly Todd and Dan Heyer and in third place were junior Kelsey Simet and senior Nate Marsh.
Fredonia, N.Y. — November 17, 2008 —SUNY Fredonia is offering a three-credit J-Term course allowing students to study abroad in Turkey January 6-18, and students, faculty, staff, or members of the community are eligible to enroll. The program fee is $2,200 plus tuition ($697.20).
