Dr. Junaid Zubairi recently presented his innovative flight tracker system, under provisional patent with the SUNY Technology Transfer Office, at Techstorm New York, the first national event of its kind. The event featured technology presentations and a fast-paced matchmaking session, similar to a kind of speed-dating, for entrepreneurs and university representatives.
"Steadfast," a film by Phil Hastings, Visual Arts and New Media assistant professor, has been accepted for a three-month showing at the 18th Biennale of Sydney, Australia, which is known for showcasing the freshest and most provocative contemporary art around the world. Hastings will also give an artist talk.
"The Other Town," a documentary film by Communications Professor Nefin Dinc, will be screened as part of the Greece and Turkey Series at Stanford University on May 10.
The spring Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Series concludes on Wednesday, May 2, at noon in the Horizon Room with a panel discussion titled, “Rousseau at 300,” exploring the lasting impact of the 18th century philosopher.
