Over 300 SUNY Fredonia students are expected to participate in the annual Fall Sweep on Nov. 4, a leaf raking event created to strengthen the bonds between students and the residents of the village of Fredonia.
A tour of the art and architecture of one of the worlds’ greatest – and oldest – cities, London, England, will be led January 5 to 15, 2008, by SUNY Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus Daniel Reiff of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia.
SUNY Fredonia’s annual Hillman Opera is bound to appeal to music lovers of all ages. “Hansel and Gretel,” by Engelbert Humperdinck, will be performed in Marvel Theatre on Nov. 8 through 11.

That’s the feeling SUNY Fredonia student Anne Marie Miller, the 2007 recipient of the Lundquist International Fellowship, brought back with her to campus this fall.
In the spirit of the Halloween season, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra will present a concert program entitled “The Devil’s Dance” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 in King Concert Hall.
A mass-drumming event at 7 p.m. and concert at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 will highlight three days of clinics in traditional rudimental drumming at the Fredonia School of Music by visiting artists.

The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music will kick off its second season of free concerts designed to appeal to very young children. Selected student ensembles from the Fredonia School of Music will perform four, half-hour Children’s Concerts on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. beginning on Saturday, Oct. 27.
More than 50 teachers from area school districts gathered at a workshop hosted by SUNY Fredonia Oct. 9 to 11 to enhance their teaching skills through participation in GEMS, a resource of innovative science and math education developed by the University of California at Berkeley.
