Winners of the Outstanding Administrative Service Awards were recently recognized at a luncheon in their honor. Tracy Bennett, SUNY Fredonia vice president for Administration, cited the five recipients of the awards for their outstanding performance.
A program to showcase the strength and breadth of the offerings of the State University of New York, “Operation Inform,” will be hosted Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Williams Center at SUNY Fredonia. Attending will be over 100 school guidance counselors from 49 schools within a 100 mile radius of the university. Director of Admissions Christopher Dearth noted, “It is an absolute pleasure to host these high school professionals for SUNY Operation Inform. Not only are we highlighting the value and importance of a SUNY education, we are also showcasing Fredonia.”
During the nationally-observed “Take Our Daughters & Sons To Work Day,” the campus welcomed dozens of children of employees. Professor Jill Johnston-Price (Visual Arts and New Media) gave a one-hour workshop to allow children between 7 and 13 to see hands-on two-dimensional animation production. After the class, the children were given the opportunity to hand-paint small wooden flowers and sculptures in the Campus Center.
