The SUNY Fredonia Business Club will present its 37th Annual Business Person of the Year Award to Rita Canfora and Debbie Michalak, owners of the Cutting Crew beauty salon. The award ceremony will be Thursday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Tickets can be purchased for $30 at the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office or at: www.fredonia.edu/tickets, until Feb. 26.
A team of SUNY Fredonia’s Fred Global Enactus students traveled to Belize to begin their mission of empowering local artisans to improve their standard of living. The team formed strategic partnerships with the National Institute of Culture and History and the Rotary Club of Belize to help in this effort and support Belizean children’s education.
The Wind Ensemble at SUNY Fredonia, one of the School of Music’s premier ensembles, will perform in high schools across New York State during its spring tour. Buffalo, Brockport, Hilton, Schenectady and Guilderland Center are among destinations of the 44-student ensemble directed by Dr. Paula Holcomb.
