The student-run Ethos New Music Society will present renowned violinist Jennifer Koh in a virtual residency at Fredonia that will feature two discussions, “Decolonizing Western Music,” on Thursday, April 1, at 6 p.m., and “Creativity in the Time of COVID-19,” Friday, April 2, at 5 p.m.

Intelligent.com, a resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning, has rated Fredonia’s Master of Music degree in Music Education among the nation’s best master’s degree in music programs for 2021.

High school pianists are invited to join All Things Piano, a fun, casual Zoom conversation with faculty from Fredonia’s School of Music, to be presented on Saturday, March 13, at noon. Healthy approaches to deal with performance anxiety will be among several topics Professor Fr. Sean Duggan and Assistant Professor Eliran Avni will explore at the meet-up session.
Grace Doebler, who received a Mus.B. in 2019 and an M.M. in 2020, both in Music Education at Fredonia, presented her research study, "Ukulele Usage in Western New York Classrooms," at the National Music Research and Teacher Education Conference of the National Association for Music Education on Feb. 26.
During the Fall 2020 semester, SUNY Fredonia preservice music teachers enrolled in MUED 301, General Music in Elementary School, created listening lessons for grades K-5 and videos of themselves teaching the lessons so classroom teachers could use them with their own students.
