Ethos New Music Society will be hosting a concert featuring renowned mezzo-soprano Clara O’Brien and composer Lance Hulme on Wednesday, March 3 at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. Noted for her technical and expressive virtuosity, she has appeared on the stages of many international cities. Pianist Howard Lubin, who teaches at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will be the accompanist. The event is free and open to the public.

Striking Notes is a new series sponsored by the Western New York Chamber Orchestra seeking to introduce guest artists to SUNY Fredonia students in a new way. The first guest is Laura Koepke, bassoon professor at SUNY Fredonia, who will be speaking Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. in the Williams Center. She is a featured performer in the WNYCO concert Feb. 21. Guest artists will include musicians from all over the country. Koepke’s presentation is the first of the continuing series.
