Faculty and friends of the School of Music at SUNY Fredonia will hold a benefit concert to raise money for Matteson-Kempo Karate and Dynamics Unlimited Gymnastics studios, two Dunkirk businesses that suffered severe losses during the Masonic Building fire February 24.
Twenty jazz classics will be featured at the “All That Jazz: Commencement Eve Pops” concert Friday, May 14, at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. Eight of SUNY Fredonia’s most talented student vocalists – including two who were featured in the recent hit campus production of “Kiss Me, Kate” – have been assembled to bring the songs to life.
The 20th annual Fredonia Summer Music Festival, an educational experience for instrumental students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12, will be held from Sunday, June 27 through Saturday, July 3. The cost is $680, which includes housing, meals, and a camp t-shirt. Commuters pay $360 (meals not included) or $525 (meals included).
Melodies and memories will come together when Rockefeller Arts Center presents “All That Jazz: Commencement Eve Pops” on Friday, May 14 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. Hoping to lay down the definitive reference rendition of a noted guitar composition, the Guitar Ensemble and Guitar Quartet will perform Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint" for 15 guitars live and with a conductor.
