Mainstage Series presenting musical in Bartlett Theatre

“Stop the World — I Want to Get Off” will be presented in Bartlett Theatre at Rockefeller Arts Center with six performances from March 8 to 16. It will be directed by Tom Loughlin. The show includes the songs “Once in a Lifetime” and “What Kind of Fool Am I?,” which became a hit for Sammy Davis, Jr. in 1962.

Badfinger guitarist is guest of music business program

Joey Molland, the last surviving member of the rock band Badfinger, will perform on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall by invitation of the Music Business program. During a talk starting at 6:15 p.m. in G-24 McEwen Hall, he will discuss his career and, in particular, his harsh experiences with recording labels and the business side of the industry. Both events are free and open to the public. Badfinger was touted by many as the next “Fab Four,” especially following the Beatles break up in 1970. However, poor management led the band to financial ruin.

New Marion Fellowship for the Visual and Performing Arts unveiled

A one-of-a-kind opportunity for creative enrichment for a faculty member or graduate student at SUNY Fredonia is being made possible by the new Marion Fellowship for the Visual and Performing Arts. The fellowship will support new artistic experiences in several locations for a faculty member in music, theatre, dance, or visual arts and new media.
