Annual Stroke Awareness Walk set for Sept. 7

The Stroke Awareness Walk, now in its 10th year at Fredonia and dedicated to providing education on stroke prevention and introducing services available at the campus’ Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communications Disorders, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m.

Fredonia shortens path leading to B.S., M.S. in Biology

An academic program that enables students to earn B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology in five years, instead of the conventional six years, is being launched at Fredonia. The B.S./M.S. multi-award program is intended for students with specific career goals that require advanced degrees as well as those who haven’t chosen a profession and want to do advanced research or perform an additional internship before applying to graduate or medical school or other health professions program.

Summer coding camp held for area youngsters

Xin Fan, assistant professor of history, has received the Florence Tan Moeson Fellowship this summer to revise his book manuscript on a world history in China at the Asian Division of the U.S. Library of Congress.

When students at Fredonia complete Medical Technology courses, fulfill graduation requirements and pass the national certification exam, they’ll be positioned to hit the ground running – straight to a high-paying job. In fact, all 10 students on track to complete hospital internships in August already have multiple job offers on the table.

Four faculty and staff members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the State University of New York at Fredonia, a Finance and Administration staff member who ensures campus compliance with state and SUNY internal control requirements, and a valued staff member from the Office of Admissions, have received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence, an honor that recognizes consistently superior professional achievement.
