Art gallery presents new exhibit

The Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery at Fredonia will host the traveling exhibition Dos Mundos: (Re)constructing Narratives, organized by En Foco Inc. and curated by Juanita Lanzo and Stephanie Lindquist, from Jan. 19 through Feb. 28.

Student photo competition set for Dos Mundos: (Re)constructing Narratives gallery exhibition

The Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery is seeking entries from Fredonia students for a photo competition to be held in conjunction with the En Foco traveling exhibition “Dos Mundos: (Re)constructing Narratives.” Students are invited to contribute to this critical conversation through photographs – portraits, social landscapes, still lifes or altered historical photographs – that address inequities in their life or the lives of others, in the Reconstructing Narratives Student Photo Competition.

Marion Art Gallery opens season with Martha Colburn exhibition

“Imagined Histories,” an exhibition that features five stop-motion animated films by internationally renowned artist Martha Colburn, will be on display in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery from Sept. 3 to Nov. 22.

Collage artist Teresa Booth Brown awarded Marion Fellowship grant

Teresa Booth Brown, an artist and teacher known for her use of collage in oil painting, mixed-media drawings and printmaking, has been awarded the 2019-2020 Marion International Fellowship Grant for the Visual and Performing Arts for “Neo-Quietism,” a project that explores the physical engagement between viewer and artwork.

Second spring senior exhibition opens May 3 in Marion Art Gallery

The second senior show of the Spring 2019 semester, titled “Tessellate,” opens in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3. On display through May 9, the exhibition includes artwork by 10 graduating seniors.
