FOCUS 2 Career is an online tool that helps you learn about yourself by looking at your interests, values, personality and skills. It matches you with careers and majors that fit you. FOCUS 2 is helpful whether you’re exploring options, thinking about changing your major, or ready to choose a career.
STEP 1: CREATE AN ACCOUNT / LOGIN to FOCUS 2
- Select the CREATE AN ACCOUNT (red box) link
- Enter Fredonia’s license code: Freddy
- Enter your name and contact information including your Fredonia email address, a unique username and a password (12 characters long and contain an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, a number, and a symbol).
STEP 2: Complete the four SELF ASSESSMENTS.
Each assessment will take between 5-15 minutes to complete. The completed assessment results will appear in “My Summary Reports,” in the bottom right corner of the FOCUS 2 website.
STEP 3: COMBINE YOUR RESULTS TO NARROW YOUR OPTIONS
Merge your results to see occupations and majors matching multiple assessments. The results are listed in ALPHABETICAL order. Hyperlinked jobs titles provide a detailed profile that includes Training | Job Tasks | Earnings (salary) Job Outlook | Work Conditions | Skills | Educational Requirements/ Majors | Professional Associations.
Focus 2 Career offers a starting point to generate career and/or major options. But ultimately, YOU will determine your own best career path!
Review these topics and discuss your results at your individual appointment with the Career Development Office. Login to Handshake (fredonia.joinhandshake.edu) using your Fredonia e-services credentials to select the day/time that works best for you or contact the office directly to schedule your one-on-one appointment. Complete the RESULTS summary document and bring it with you!
