Early Voting
Early voting in NYS is all about getting a jump on the voting process and casting a ballot before Election Day. On this page, the American Democracy Project provides resources and valuable information about the early voting process.
What is early voting?
This lets registered voters vote on specified dates before Election Day! Early voting was a central part of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's 2019 Justice Agenda, and he signed the legislation establishing early voting in January 2020. There will now be nine days of early voting prior to Election Day. This means that if something prevents you from being able to vote on Election Day you have time to vote ahead of time!

You don't need an excuse to vote early. If you cast a ballot during the Early Voting Period, you can’t vote on Election Day. Keep in mind that early Voting poll sites will NOT be open the day before the Election.
