Marian Wright EdelmanMrs. Edelman presented the annual Maytum Convocation Lecture at State University of New York at Fredonia, "Human Rights: With Liberty and Justice for All?" on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. She was also named a Williams Distinguished Visiting Professor at Fredonia. Mrs. Edelman has been an advocate for disadvantaged Americans for her entire professional life. Under her leadership, CDF has become the nation's strongest voice for children and families.

Judy Shepard: The Meaning of Matthew Shepard

Judy Shepard, mother of hate-crime victim Matthew Shepard, discussed how the tragedy of her son’s murder in 1988 spurred her campaign for justice and ultimately led to the founding of the Matthew Shepard Foundation to help carry on his legacy.
