Money and debt seminar planned by SIFE team for Dec. 3

Four students from the Integrated Marketing Communication class, along with a guest speaker from First Investors, will provide tips on various economic issues aimed at graduating students and community members. They will discuss the importance of the economic climate in our country today, how students can prepare for retirement, how to successfully save, and how to pay back student loans.

First Lundine Series forum to discuss school mergers

The first of four forums in the “Lundine Series” will focus on school consolidation Monday, Dec. 1, at 8 a.m. in Williams Center Room S104 at SUNY Fredonia. “This public discussion will complement the existing efforts to improve the efficiency of our school system in Chautauqua County,” said Chuck Cornell, director of the SUNY Fredonia Center for Rural Regional Development and Governance (CRRDG).

Film screenings to feature American Indian heritage

Two Native American films will be screened on the SUNY Fredonia campus during November. The screenings are hosted by the Native American Student Union and the Native American SUNY Western Consortium as part of National American Indian Heritage Month. All students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to attend the free screenings.

Recycling is focus of discussion and movie night

SUNY Fredonia’s American Studies program, together with the class, “Sustainability and America” (AMST 399), led by Dr. Christina Jarvis, is hosting a movie night and panel discussion regarding recycling. The event will take place on Monday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in room 209 of McEwen Hall on the Fredonia campus, beginning with a panel discussion on recycling and American sustainability.

Veterans' remembrance observed on campus

SUNY Fredonia’s Office of Veteran Affairs, together with the departments of Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, and Public Relations, will hold a memorial service for U.S. veterans on Monday, Nov. 10. The ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the CentrePointe Lounge in the Williams Center.

Mexican educators here for Intl Ed celebration

A university teaching delegation from Oaxaca, the fifth largest state in Mexico, will meet students, faculty and administrators at SUNY Fredonia and also visit Dunkirk schools and meet Oaxacan families in the area during the university’s observance of International Education Week that begins Monday, Nov. 10.
