Golden Key International Honour Society to induct more than 100

A total of 112 SUNY Fredonia juniors, seniors and graduate students will be inducted into the 2011 class of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Four faculty will receive honorary induction: Roger Byrne; Michael Jabot; Mark Kinney; and Jeffrey Meredith.

Pre-Med senior selected as Student of the Month

Steven Gangloff, of Buffalo, N.Y., has been named Student of the Month for September by Residence Life. Steven was nominated for this award by Professors Ted Lee and Scott Ferguson because of his “tremendous work ethic and genuine intellectual curiosity.” Steven is a senior Biology major on the Pre-Medical track, due to graduate in May of 2012.

Secretaries Snyder and Anderson honored with annual awards

Secretaries Diane Snyder and Patty Anderson, each of whom have more than 19 years of service with SUNY Fredonia, shared the spotlight as recipients of two coveted awards at the SUNY Fredonia Secretarial/Clerical Professional Development Group’s Annual Fall Conference Oct. 7.

Linda Brigance invited to be a celebrity reader

Linda Brigance (right), associate professor in the Department of Communication, will be one of 66 “celebrity readers” who will be taking part in a nationwide reading of the children’s book, “Llama Red Pajama,” in conjunction with “Read for Success Buffalo” on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns.

Ellen Litwicki presenting at Bard Gallery in NYC

Dr. Ellen Litwicki of the history department is presenting a talk at Bard Graduate Center in New York on Oct. 6. The talk is titled "Christmas Gifting: Rituals of Affection and Commerce," and it is in conjunction with an exhibition at the Bard Gallery, "American Christmas Cards, 1900-1960."
