Women’s history month kicks-off with sex educator and author Amber Madison on Mar. 1

SUNY Fredonia will celebrate Women’s History Month this March with the theme, “Revealing Positions on Sexuality.” Opening ceremonies will take place on Monday, Mar. 1 in the Horizon Room of the Williams Center, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. A dinner will be provided, followed by a presentation titled, “Hooking Up,” by keynote speaker Amber Madison, a well-known sex author and educator who has appeared on NBC’s “Today” show and MTV News, and featured in The Boston Globe. The event is free and open to the public.

New FACE Center gives those seeking campus-community partnerships reason to smile

SUNY Fredonia’s volunteer impact throughout Chautauqua County is well known, with approximately 13,000 student volunteer hours contributed annually. Now, thanks to the creation of the Fredonia Academic Community Engagement (FACE) Center, traditional volunteering at SUNY Fredonia is poised to evolve into more strategic, long-lasting and meaningful experiences for both students and community members alike.

Congressman Brian Higgins to talk to students on Monday

U.S. Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27th District) will speak at SUNY Fredonia to discuss his recent trip to Afghanistan, in addition to other prominent issues. His talk, “A Look at Afghanistan, and Nation Building at Home,” will take place at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, in the Horizon Room of the Williams Center. The event is free and open to all.
