Music program for kids moving to Campus & Community Children's Center

The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music is excited to be continuing its Pathways to Music program at a new location in the fall - the gymnasium of the Campus & Community Children's Center. The Program is designed for children ages 6 months through 5 years old. The weekly classes are for one child and one accompanying parent or guardian.

Summer Sessions for New Horizons Band will feature concerts in the park

The New Horizons Band of Western New York is completing its sixth season with a special summer session which will be held from July 6 through July 27. Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., except during the first week when the band will meet on Wednesday and Friday. The summer season will conclude with concerts scheduled on Thursday, July 29 at 7 pm at Ryckman Park Gazebo in the Village of Brocton and as part of the Fredonia Gazebo Concert Series at Barker Common on Friday, July 29 at 6:30 pm.

Summer Music Festival for high school instrumentalists is June 26 through July 2

Set on the beautiful campus of SUNY Fredonia and housed in the university’s School of Music, the Fredonia Summer Music Festival takes advantage of the campus’ first-rate facilities and world-class teachers. Instrumental students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 are invited to attend during the festival, June 26 through July 2.

Rockefeller Arts Center continues commencement eve tradition with pops concert

Talented performers and a great selection of songs come together in a commencement eve tradition at SUNY Fredonia as Rockefeller Arts Center presents “Big Band Song and Dance” on Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. The repertoire includes “Come Fly With Me,” “Satin Doll,” “Hey There,” “Summer Wind,” “Get Happy,” “April in Paris” and many more.

Yo-Yo Ma to perform sold-out show at SUNY Fredonia

Yo-Yo Ma, one of the most recognizable names in classical music today, will perform at SUNY Fredonia on Thursday, Dec. 8. The event will feature the world-renowned cellist as a soloist performing with the College Symphony Orchestra, giving SUNY Fredonia students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from and perform with one of the greatest musicians in any genre of any era. Tickets are sold out.
