The Residence Life Student Recognition Committee has selected Yuwan Ilano as one of the Resident Assistants of the Month for April.
One of the greatest plays in the Western canon has met with 21st century technology to come to life at Fredonia. The Department of Theatre and Dance is offering William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” in a virtual format through Feb. 15.
Applications are being accepted from students within Fredonia as well as prospective students looking to transfer from other universities or community colleges who are interested in enrolling in the B.F.A. Dance or B.F.A. Theatrical Production and Design programs.
One of the key figures in the development of the original production of “RENT” made a visit to SUNY Fredonia on April 11 and 12. James Nicola, artistic director of the New York Theatre Workshop, was on campus to work with theatre students. He also participated in a talk about the creative process involved in the original production of “RENT.”
“RENT,” one of the longest-running hits in the history of Broadway, will be presented this weekend and next by the Department of Theatre and Dance. Six performances are scheduled from April 4-12 in Marvel Theatre. Watch the preview video here!
Dr. James Ivey of the Department of Theatre and Dance announced that the final day of the One-Act Play Festival one-act at SUNY Fredonia is tonight (Monday, Dec. 16) at 6 p.m.; rescheduled from Friday.
Don't miss the ninth annual, “Terror in the Trees.” Guests will be able to experience Fredonia's popular haunted forest tour on the Thursday through Saturday nights which "book-end" Halloween. The event will take place Oct. 24 to 26 and Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 from 8 p.m. to midnight. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lakeshore Humane Society.
The renowned piano/vocal duo of Marvin Goldstein and Vanessa Joy (in photo at right) will perform in a special one-night only concert to benefit the Playground drama day camp scholarship fund. The concert takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre at SUNY Fredonia.
Directed by Helen Myers, director of dance at SUNY Fredonia, the May 3-5 concert brings together the work of six choreographers, 20 student performers and a host of faculty and student designers and technicians.
