New features will shine at this year's SUNYWide Film Festival & Symposium

The 5th annual SUNYWide Film Festival & Symposium, to be hosted by SUNY Fredonia on April 10 to 12, will showcase the exceptional work of movie and filmmakers across the State University of New York system. The two-day competitive film festival will begin on Thursday, April 10, by celebrating the creation, research and instruction of the cinematic arts.

Marion Art Gallery to host 'Senior Show I: Self Portrait' exhibition

The works of 15 students from the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia will be displayed in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning Friday, April 11. The exhibition, titled “Senior Show I: Self Portrait,” will open with a reception in the art gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 11. The show will run through Thursday, April 17.

SOLD OUT: Tonight's Los Angeles Guitar Quartet concert

TICKETS FOR THIS PERFORMANCE ARE CURRENTLY SOLD OUT. The ticket office staff will start a waiting list beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the venue door (must be present to join list). The School of Music will present the Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) tonight at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. Their appearance at Fredonia will include a special joint performance with the Fredonia Guitar Ensemble, a student ensemble led by Distinguished Professor James Piorkowski.

Mainstage Series presents Broadway musical 'RENT'

“RENT,” one of the longest-running hits in the history of Broadway, will be presented this weekend and next by the Department of Theatre and Dance. Six performances are scheduled from April 4-12 in Marvel Theatre. Watch the preview video here!

SUNY Fredonia's Wind Ensemble completing March tour

The SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble, which has delighted audiences on state, national and international tours since 1999, will perform at eight high schools throughout New York State during its spring tour. Evening concerts open to the public are scheduled at Pembroke High School on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m.; West Genesee High School on Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m.; and Rondout High School, on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

Mainstage Series to feature Fredonia Dance Ensemble

Local audiences will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of dance styles in an evening of grace and beauty when the Fredonia Dance Ensemble presents its annual concert from Feb. 21 to 23 in Marvel Theatre. Performances are planned for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Feb. 23.

Composers featured in final weekend of NewSound Festival

Ethos New Music Society will conclude its NewSound Festival by sponsoring three concerts, beginning with a performance by composer / singer / songwriter Gabriel Kahane on Friday, Feb. 21, followed by composer / electric guitarist D.J. Sparr on Saturday, Feb. 22, and concluding with Washington D.C.-based composer Armando Bayolo on Sunday, Feb. 23. All three will be held at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.
