Allison DiMauro, a senior Music Education major from Long Island, has been awarded the Oasis Guitar Jury Prize, a $500 cash award that recognizes the guitar student who exhibits the greatest improvement over the course of a semester.
Mustafa Hasan, an advocate and journalist in Iraq, will be visiting campus March 11-13 to meet with campus groups, deliver guest lectures, and present on the “Role of Journalism in Advocacy” through the American Democracy Project (ADP).
The School of Music will host the inaugural Robert Jordan Piano Festival in February, named in memory of School of Music Professor Emeritus Robert Jordan. The three-day event, slated for Feb. 23 through 25, will feature some of today's brightest piano artists, including Spencer Myer, Yi-Heng Yang and Shai Wosner.
