On Oct. 8, the Fredonia State Athletic Department inducted five individuals and three Teams of Distinction into its Hall of Fame. Among those inducted was Greg Prechtl, who has been involved with the athletic department over 50 years. Sarah Hite-Moore, Jordan Basile, Matt Borchard and Walter Hubbard were also inducted.
The Fredonia State swimming and diving team won its first meet of the season this weekend, and Head Coach Bill Bradley claimed his first win. Rachael Mayou and Kayla Hagen both won two individual events and one relay. The ladies earned the team victory, out-pointing Pitt-Bradford, 114-45.
The Fredonia State women's volleyball team won its third straight match, taking down the Plattsburgh Cardinals, 3-1, on Saturday.
The Fredonia State men's soccer team shutout Potsdam, 3-0, on Saturday. Jacob Vallas, Chance LaCroix, and Kaleb Steward each scored to power the Devils.
The Fredonia State women's soccer team tied Potsdam, 1-1, on Saturday. The Devils scored in the first half, and Potsdam got the equalizer in the second half.
The Fredonia State women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season, losing 7-2 vs. Plattsburgh. Caitlin Snyder was a double winner for the Devils.
The 2022 Fredonia State Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner are slated for Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
The Fredonia State cross country teams will be holding the annual Ruterbusch 5k Run on Saturday, Oct. 8 on Hall of Fame Weekend. The race will take place on campus at 10 a.m.
Sembel Koshi turned in the top time for the Fredonia State men's cross country team at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry Anderson Invitational. Koshi turned in a time of 26:17.7 and finished 22nd out of 174 runners. The Devils finished fifth as a team.
Alexandra Battaglia's 55th-place finish in a field of 168 runners across 14 teams was the top Fredonia State women's cross country performance at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry Anderson Invitational. Battaglia turned in a time of 20:25.4. The Devils finished 10th as a team.
