Fredonia's program gives you a direct track to a master's degree in five years. When you have completed Fredonia's accelerated program, you'll have a B.S.Ed. and M.S.Ed. You'll also receive your initial New York certification in four areas: Childhood Education (1-6), Students with Disabilities (1-6), Literacy (birth-grade 6), and Literacy (grades 5-12). Fredonia's accelerated 5-year program offers a clinically-rich array of rigorous education programs and field placements. Candidates are prepared to work efficiently with diverse student populations in urban and rural schools. This is the program for the education major who wants to be versatile in their career and efficient in their education. Fredonia’s cutting-edge approach of developing high quality programs enhanced by rich clinical experience is supported by a long history of alumni now in successful teaching careers across the country.

EDU 355 Assessment & Instruction of Students with Learning & Behavior Disorders in Inclusive Ed Settings

Critical examination of students with special needs in inclusive educational settings with an emphasis on the connections between core curriculum, ongoing assessment, and varied instructional strategies.

EDU 349 Educational Psychology

Areas of psychology utilized in the teaching and learning processes. Analyzing and interpreting scientific data related to individual differences, growth, learning, group processes, systematic assessment, measurement, and evaluation.

EDU 250 Introduction to the Exceptional Learner

Introductory survey of nature, needs, and education of children who are exceptional because of intelligence, behavioral disorders, and/or physical development.
