When you have completed Fredonia's accelerated program, you'll have a B.S.Ed. and M.S.Ed. You'll also receive your initial New York certification in four areas: Childhood Education (1-6), Students with Disabilities (1-6), Literacy (birth-grade 6), and Literacy (grades 5-12). Fredonia's accelerated 5-year program offers a clinically-rich array of rigorous education programs and field placements. Candidates are prepared to work efficiently with diverse student populations in urban and rural schools. This is the program for the education major who wants to be versatile in their career and efficient in their education. Fredonia’s cutting-edge approach of developing high quality programs enhanced by rich clinical experience is supported by a long history of alumni now in successful teaching careers across the country.

The Fredonia Difference

Fredonia is the gold standard of teacher education, being the first institution in New York to meet all five of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) standards and one of the first institutions in the nation to be fully accredited through CAEP, the single specialized accreditor for educator preparation in the United States. As a future teacher, you will be in the field - in a real classroom - as soon as your first semester. The program emphasizes appropriate development as you go along, making your educational experience exciting but not overwhelming.
