Yunghans-Dietter Research Award

The award is to be given to students (undergraduate or graduate) to support summer research projects sponsored by the faculty of the Biology Department. (Replaces Merlin Biology Fund - established 1998). This award recognizes Dr. Wayne Yunghans and his family, teachers, colleagues, friends, and students who contributed to his education and career as a cell biologist at the Department of Biology, SUNY College at Fredonia. Professor Yunghans (B.S. Heidelberg College, M.S. Ph.D. Purdue University) taught a variety of courses, was department chairperson, and with many students studied various aspects of membrane biology. Dr. Yunghans, Penelope (Dietter) (B.S. Heidelberg College, M.A. Purdue University), and sons Steven and Daniel, resided in Fredonia.
