The Campus Climate Challenge will be hosting the 5th, biannual Trash Crawl on Oct. 28, at 1 a.m., to clean up the trash around the village downtown area as the bars begin to close Participants are asked to meet outside of Lograsso Hall, where they will be provided with trash bags upon arrival. A flashlight and brightly colored and/or reflective clothing is recommended for this event.
Renowned “extraordinist” Craig Karges will serve up his unique world – where tables float, minds are read, metal bends and imaginations are challenged – at a public performance at the 1891 Opera House, Fredonia, on Friday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m., to launch Family Weekend activities at SUNY Fredonia.
The Criminal Justice club will host a Halloween-themed event to help students protect themselves in social situations on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. "Survival" tools, including self-defense skills and martial arts will be demonstrated and an Emergency Medical Technician discussion will be held on how to recognize a peer who is intoxicated or drugged and best practices for responding to it.
An inscribed, first edition of The Case Against the Nazi War Criminals, written by Robert H. Jackson, the lead prosecutor for the United States in the historic Nuremberg Trials, will be presented to the Robert H. Jackson Center at a ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. in Reed Library. Randy Gadikian, director of Reed Library, said he was thrilled when Barbara Kittle, archives reference librarian, discovered the book while processing some of the backlog of materials in the Archives Collection.

Graduate and undergraduate biology majors who won research awards this past summer will present the findings of their plant and animal studies on Friday, Oct. 19, starting at 3 p.m. in Jewett 101. The summer research program for SUNY Fredonia biology majors is supported by the Fredonia College Foundation with gifts from the Holmberg Foundation of Jamestown, N.Y., Constantine Barker Foundation, Dr. Robert Wettingfeld Undergraduate Research Award and Biology Endowment Fund. Each fall, the department welcomes donors and guests to hear the results of the student work.
SUNY Fredonia will celebrate International Food Day on Wednesday, Oct. 24, with a series of events open to the campus and community. The panelists will take questions from the audience and speak about their personal experiences and beliefs concerning Judaism.
