Regional conference of The College Music Society to take place at Fredonia during spring break

Melodies will float in Fredonia’s Mason Hall from Friday, March 16, through Saturday, March 17, when the Northeast Regional Conference of the College Music Society (CMS) will be held on campus. The two-day event will include paper presentations, lecture-recitals, composers' concerts, student papers and compositions, a keynote speaker, an annual business meeting, and networking opportunities

Music ensembles going on the road to play in NY, PA, Germany and France

While the Fredonia School of Music has a long tradition of sending its ensembles out on tour both domestically and abroad, it is starting a new tradition in which several performing groups are sent out in different directions, but at the same time. In total, the groups will be working directly with approximately 4,000 school age students. The plan also includes a performance of the Fredonia Chamber Choir at a SUNY Fredonia Alumni Reunion in Manhattan.

Children’s Concerts Series continues season with African drumming on March 3

The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music continues its sixth season of free concerts designed to appeal to very young children. Selected student ensembles from the Fredonia School of Music will perform half-hour Children's Concerts on four Saturday mornings with two performances at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 am on Saturday, March 3, in the Darwin R. Barker Library, 7 Day Street in Fredonia.

Students plan a quintet of programs Feb. 6 - 10 to promote Music Therapy Awareness Week

The Music Therapy Club will host its annual Music Therapy Awareness Week from Feb. 6 through 10. The awareness week will open with professional therapist Erica Iocco’s presentation on her private practice on Monday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Mason 2018. An annual interactive recital will conclude the week-long event on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Diers Recital Hall. The entire set of programs is open to the public with free admission
