A cutting-edge, dark comedy, “Our Lady of 121st Street”, will be presented by SUNY Fredonia’s Performing Arts Company beginning Friday, Feb. 11, in Fenton Hall Room 105. The play, written by New York playwright and screenwriter Stephen Adly Guirgis, presents a wake in a Harlem neighborhood for the formidable nun, Sister Rose, whose corpse has been stolen, bringing out the true colors of those who knew her.
Opera star Susanne Mentzer will arrive for an opera theatre residency this week. Mentzer has appeared with nearly all the major opera companies, orchestras and festivals of North and South America, Europe and Japan. For over 20 years she has sung leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera.

The Fall Student Composers Concert, to be held Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall, is the first of four Student Composers Concerts which Ethos New Music Society will hold this year.
