SUNY Fredonia will again implement summer hours of operation on Monday, May 20. During the summer, business hours for SUNY Fredonia start at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., with the lunch period reduced to one-half hour. On Monday, August 26, regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. resume.
The SUNY Fredonia student group, ENACTUS, established a SADD group on campus. SADD stands for students against destructive decisions. ENACTUS is a group of students, academic and business leaders who want to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world. The ENACTUS initiative is “Think Before You Act”.
The courses will take a look at how literature and the ideas of Englishness are shaped by gender, race, class, sexuality, and transnational affiliations. Courses will be taught in the morning, and afternoons will consist of trips to museums, galleries, and other sites of cultural interest.
SUNY Fredonia’s “Project PRIME” (Professional Resources in Mathematics Education) is offering a four-day camp called “Camp COMETS” (Creating Opportunities in Mathematics, Engineering, Technology and Science) for children going into sixth, seventh or eight grades. The students will be taught by faculty and follow a fun and creative program designed to advance their knowledge in math, engineering and science. The camp will run daily from Aug. 20 to 23 from 8 a.m. to noon in Thompson Hall.
Camp COMETS (Creating Opportunities in Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, and Science) runs Aug. 15 through 18. During the four-day camp, middle-schoolers have the opportunity to simulate “real-world” situations that inspire imaginative thinking and problem-solving.
Set on the beautiful campus of SUNY Fredonia and housed in the university’s School of Music, the Fredonia Summer Music Festival takes advantage of the campus’ first-rate facilities and world-class teachers. Instrumental students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 are invited to attend during the festival, June 26 through July 2.

The 20th annual Fredonia Summer Music Festival, an educational experience for instrumental students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12, will be held from Sunday, June 27 through Saturday, July 3. The cost is $680, which includes housing, meals, and a camp t-shirt. Commuters pay $360 (meals not included) or $525 (meals included).
