Blue Devil divers win titles at SUNYAC championships

Sophomore John Estanislau was part of two more school records Saturday at the SUNYAC championship meet. The women's team achieved its highest finish in the history of the program. The Fredonia State women finished second at the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving championship meet which ended Saturday night at the Erie Community College's Burt Flickinger Center. On the men's side, Fredonia State junior Ryan Fuller (Endicott) swept the 2012 SUNYAC diving titles following his 3-meter victory Saturday night and Sophomore John Estanislau was the top swimmer for all three days.

A night of amazing stories: Blue Devils raise $10,000 for cancer research at Pink the Rink Friday night

"This was probably our best ever," Fredonia State coach Jeff Meredith said. "There are so many amazing stories of people who have persevered, and of families who have worked through many difficult things. It was just a great success." Friday night, Fredonia's Division III Men's Ice Hockey team suited up in pink jerseys and socks to raise money to fight cancer.

Reilly Condidorio set Blue Devil career records in women's soccer for most goals (34) and most points (82) – despite having played just three seasons. She also set single- season records (14 goals, 32 points) for her team in both categories, and was named to the NCAA’s Division III All-American Second Team – becoming Fredonia State’s first All-American in the sport. “It’s really cool,” said Condidorio, who was also selected First Team All-SUNYAC, of this unprecedented honor. “Actually, it’s sort of surreal to me. I watch the national tournament every year. It’s hard for me to think of being as good as those players. It’s harder still, considering where she was just one year earlier.

Guest speaker for sports management club here Nov. 16

Tyler Tumminia, daughter of a baseball scout who named her after Ty Cobb, will give a talk on campus Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. in Thompson Hall W101 on the subject of using social media to generate fan relationships. She is the guest of the Sports Management and Exercise Science Club. The event is free and open to all.
