Fredonia State senior student-athlete Casey Chiesa of Baldwinsville, N.Y., has been awarded an NCAA postgraduate scholarship for women who plan on seeking a career in college athletics. The exercise-science major, a four-year member of the Blue Devil women's lacrosse team, is one of 13 recipients of a $6,000 NCAA Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship. She was the only NCAA Division III student-athlete chosen; the other 12 awardees attend NCAA Division I schools.

Women's Soccer just became nationally ranked -- for the first time ever! The Blue Devils have earned their first ever national ranking -- #22 in this week's poll -- following their victory over the nation's top-ranked William Smith College Herons. The Fredonia State women's soccer team scored in the 30th minute and held off No. 1 ranked William Smith for a 1-0 win in a non-league match on Saturday (Sept. 15) afternoon. The Blue Devils improve to 4-1-0, while the Herons are now 4-1-1.
