HPAP Student Activities: Volunteering

Volunteering

Showing a concern for others is a personal characteristic that should be demonstrated when applying to health professional schools.  The office of Volunteer and Community Services can assist students looking for volunteer experiences.  The office also hosts a volunteer fair each year in the Williams Center where local organizations come to campus and students have the opportunity to see what the needs are for the different groups.  There are many different ways students can contribute to the community.

Pre-health students have volunteered with a variety of organizations within the community.  Students have been guides at the Chautauqua Blind Association's Dining in the Dark Fundraiser, assisted with the care of the dogs and cats at the Lake Shore Humane Society, volunteered at the fun run/walk for the Child Advocacy Program and with other organizations in our community.
