Boys and girls from Silver Creek, Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield and Brocton attended the five-day camp, and quickly were turned into “Playground Players,” an acting troupe, by the energetic staff. The Fredonia College Foundation’s Carnahan-Jackson Humanities Fund provided funding for scholarships that allowed more than a dozen additional children to attend the camp.
The Scholar's Breakfast is an annual celebration sponsored by the Fredonia College Foundation each year on Parent's Weekend to spotlight outstanding students who have received scholarships from SUNY Fredonia. The occasion is extra special due to the presence of many of the donors who have established the scholarships, giving the recipient and donor a great opportunity to meet.
Award-winning children’s author Linda Sue Park will present, “Writing to Explore Liberty and Justice for All,” on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in room 209 of McEwen Hall. The second annual Fred Ruterbusch Memorial 5K Run and Fun Run Mile takes place as part of Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. behind Steele Hall. The Fun Run Mile will follow at 11 a.m. on the indoor track in Steele Hall, followed by the post-race awards ceremony. Proceeds benefit the Phillips Cross Country and Track & Field Endowment Fund.
