'63 graduate creates scholarship, meets first recipient

Robert Caruso, retired from nearly three decades in higher education at the University of California at Los Angeles, recently took the long flight back to his Dunkirk roots and alma mater, SUNY Fredonia, the to meet Amanda Straight of Fredonia, the first recipient of a Caruso Memorial Scholarship.

Italian opera star Stefania Donzelli is guest artist/teacher

This weekend, SUNY Fredonia’s School of Music will host guest artist Stefania Donzelli, a world-famous Italian lyric soprano. Students will have the opportunity to study with Ms. Donzelli in two separate master classes, and she is giving a performance of Italian arias and songs on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 5 p.m. in Rosh Recital Hall.
