Public Relations Director Mike Barone was named one of the “40 Under 40” recognized on Nov. 9 by Business First of Buffalo. The award program, held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, annually recognizes 40 of Western New York’s up-and-coming business and community leaders under the age of 40.
Timothy Frerichs, Associate Professor of Art, is the sole U.S. artist whose work was commissioned for a fold book ( Das Nachtbuch) featuring art by international artists on the theme of night. Each artist was invited to submit three pages for the book going on exhibit in Berlin in December.

Dan Tramuta, associate vice president for Enrollment Services, was elected president of the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association. He accepted the gavel at the organization’s annual conference at the Adams Mark Hotel in Buffalo.
Kelsie says the people are her favorite part of SUNY Fredonia, noting that “The faculty in the math department are some of the most helpful and caring people I have ever met. And the ladies in the Purchasing department are wonderful!” The mathematics education major has been named Student of the Month for September by Residence Life.
Jonathan Mann, assistant professor of Piano in the School of Music, will make his Carnegie Hall debut on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1:30 p.m. in the New York City landmark’s Weill Concert Hall. Mann was awarded this prestigious honor after being selected as a finalist in the Todd-Davis Germaine Classical Fellows Competition in 2009. He will premiere a piece written for him by Dr. Robert Deemer, assistant professor of Composition.

Two SUNY Fredonia Counselors, Dr. Tracy Stenger, Assistant Director, and Dr. Leanna White, Senior Counselor, presented the results of their recent research to participants of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) conference in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday, Oct. 9. Their presentation was entitled "Maximizing Impact and Minimizing Burnout: Evaluation of Outcomes-Based Practice in a University Counseling Center."

The ninth annual Jurgen P. Banse-Fay Production Management Internship Award at the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center has been presented to Colin Chauche, a senior BFA Lighting Design major. Mr. Chauche will serve his internship during the 2010-11 Lake Shore Savings Season. The recognition also carries a cash award of $1,100.
