SUNY Fredonia pianist Mann to make Carnegie Hall debut

Jonathan Mann, assistant professor of Piano in the School of Music, will make his Carnegie Hall debut on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1:30 p.m. in the New York City landmark’s Weill Concert Hall. Mann was awarded this prestigious honor after being selected as a finalist in the Todd-Davis Germaine Classical Fellows Competition in 2009. He will premiere a piece written for him by Dr. Robert Deemer, assistant professor of Composition.

Children invited to "Sound of Music" audition

The Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking three children for its spring production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. The three roles to be cast are: Kurt (age 9 to 12), Marta (age 7 to 9) and Gretl (age 5 to 7). All girls auditioning must be between the ages of 5 and 10 and be less than 4’9” tall. All boys auditioning must be between the ages of 9 and 13 and be less than 5’2” tall.
