We’re glad you are considering Fredonia as a college to complete your baccalaureate degree. Planning ahead will ease your academic transition to Fredonia. The following guideline includes courses we recommend students focus on during their first 2 years of college:

Major Courses:
EDU 105/EDU 106 Intro Contemporary Inclusive Education/Field Experience
EDU 225 Child Development
EDU 250/251 Intro to the Exceptional Learner/Field Experience
MATH 201 Concepts of Foundational Mathematics 
MATH 202 Concepts of Foundational Mathematics II

Concentration Courses:
12 credits towards your concentration:
English, Math, Music, Natural Science, Social Sciences, World Languages

General Education Courses/College Core Curriculum (CCC):
Complete a minimum of 7/10 general education categories:

1. Math
2. Natural Sciences: 2 courses in 2 different disciplines to total 7 credits
3. Social Sciences
4. American History
5. Western Civilization
6. Other World Civilizations
7. Humanities
8. The Arts
9. Foreign Language
10a. Basic Communication Oral: will be completed Student Teaching
10b. Basic Communication Written

Candidacy Requirements

In order to be FULLY ADMITTED into any Initial Teacher Education Program in the College of Education, students must meet the following requirements:

1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
2. Proof of completion of SAT, ACT, or GRE
3. The equivalent of EDU 105/106 Introduction to Contemporary Inclusive Education and EDU 225 Child Development - with a grade of B or above

In order to be CONDITIONALLY ADMITTED into any Initial Teacher Education Program in the College of Education, students must meet the following requirements :

1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

And if either or both of the following applies:

2. Proof of completion of SAT, ACT, or GRE must be submitted by the end of the student's first semester at Fredonia
3. The equivalent of EDU 105/106 Introduction to Contemporary Inclusive Education and EDU 225 Childhood Development- with a grade of "B" or above by the end of the student's first semester at Fredonia
