The course will give an overview cloud computing, including virtualization, load balancing, scalability and elasticity, deployment, and replication. Then the students will be introduced to the design and programming aspects of cloud computing. Various case studies will be considered in areas such as image processing, live streaming and social networks analytics. Some additional aspects of cloud computing including benchmarking, security, and big data analytics will also be covered if time permits.
