Expo to highlight jobs and internships on March 22

Jobs and internships – two words of great interest to SUNY Fredonia students and alumni alike – will be front and center at the Job and Internship Expo to be held Thursday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Dods Hall Multipurpose Room. The Career Development Office, which is sponsoring the event, also has two events planned to help students gear up for the expo.

Regional conference of The College Music Society to take place at Fredonia during spring break

Melodies will float in Fredonia’s Mason Hall from Friday, March 16, through Saturday, March 17, when the Northeast Regional Conference of the College Music Society (CMS) will be held on campus. The two-day event will include paper presentations, lecture-recitals, composers' concerts, student papers and compositions, a keynote speaker, an annual business meeting, and networking opportunities

Learning Center announces new coordinator, will hold open house Feb. 10

The campus community is invited to an Open House in the Learning Center on Friday, Feb. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. to meet new staff members Amy (Stokes) Leclair and Karly Davis, and see the results of recent changes in the construction and configuration of the Learning Center, which is located in the Carnahan-Jackson Center of Reed Library on the fourth floor.

Campus plans one-week shutdown between holidays; some offices remain open

To conserve energy, the university will curtail services and operations between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. With the exception of a few offices, college buildings will be closed (including the Campus and Community Children's Center), and heat reduced, beginning close of business Friday, Dec. 23, and continuing through Monday, Jan. 2. Regular hours resume Tuesday, Jan. 3. Staying open are Admissions, Fredonia College Foundation, Bookstore, Starbucks, University Police, and others.

Marion Art Gallery showing seniors' works

The works of five students from the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia will be displayed in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning Friday, Dec. 2. The Senior Show I exhibition will open with a reception in the art gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 2. The show will run through Thursday, Dec. 8. Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
