Admissions Office seeks student volunteers for Peer Recruitment program

SUNY Fredonia’s Peer-Recruitment Program is seeking student volunteers who will return to their high schools to share their Fredonia experience with prospective students. Students usually visit during the Thanksgiving, Winter or Spring break. Participation is open to all currently enrolled SUNY Fredonia students, all majors are encouraged. The program coordinators are looking for students who are social, outgoing, and really love Fredonia.

University posts budget online

Acting Vice President for Administration Karen Porpiglia announced recently that the SUNY Fredonia Consolidated Operating Budget for 2011-2012 is now online. The document was prepared by the Budget Office, which is responsible for developing the following separate budgets covering the various sources of funding for the university

SEFA raises 2011 campaign goal to $48,000, seeks full participation

Full participation by SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff is being sought for this year's SEFA campaign, the State Employees’ Federated Appeal for community services. Kathy Dyckes, the co-chair of the campaign, said the committee has set a goal of $48,000 for this year's SEFA Campaign at SUNY Fredonia. Employees who donate before Nov. 18 are eligible to win prizes.

Campus to participate in international Coastal Cleanup Sept. 17 on three beaches

Last year, 74 student and community volunteers gathered 442.4 pounds of trash at Point Gratiot during 2010 ICC event. In addition to the three beach sweeps, Fredonia’s Cub Scout Pack 267 will be leading a cleanup of a section of Canadaway Creek at 11 a.m. Uniting the campus and community through collective action and environmental engagement, the beach and creek cleanups are part of the university’s Constitution Week activities.

Ten years after Sept 11, Brown Bag series takes a look at America

A series of lunchtime lectures at SUNY Fredonia will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “America: 10 Years Later” is the theme for the fall Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Series, four talks on new scholarship and creative work presented by university faculty. The series begins on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Pathways to Music to be held in Campus & Community Children's Center

The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music continues its exciting new program for children and parents to discover the joys of experiencing music while singing, moving, listening, dancing, and playing. Pathways to Music, which runs from Sept. 14 through Nov. 19 for the Fall 2011 session, is designed for children ages 6 months through 5 years old.
