The Fredonia State Cheerleading team will play host to a Game Day Competition in Steele Hall on Saturday, Sept. 24, beginning at 3:15 p.m. It is open to all area Modified, JV and Varsity teams.
The Scholar Team of the Year and All-Academic Teams for the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field seasons were announced recently by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Tyler Ebner was named the Assistant Coach of the Fredonia State men's hockey program beginning with the 2022-2023 season.
After serving in an interim capacity the past season, William Bradley was named the full-time coach of the Fredonia State Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams. Bradley is a 2018 graduate of Fredonia State and a native of Dunkirk.
After taking over the reigns as the interim coach of the Fredonia State baseball program in January, Jordan Basile was officially named the head coach following a national search. Basile, a 2009 grad and Hall of Famer, brings an extensive resume to the team.
The wait is nearly over for the 2020 Hall of Fame Class that saw its induction postponed each of the last two falls. Tickets for the Saturday, Oct. 8 Hall of Fame Ceremony will go on sale on Sept. 1.

Jeff Meredith, longtime head coach of hockey at SUNY Fredonia, achieved a milestone by completing a bicycle adventure with his brother, Eric, on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), a nearly 150-mile “rails-to-trails” journey between Pittsburgh, Pa., and Cumberland, Md., in early July.
The journey taken by 26 student-athletes seeking to compete in the 2022 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship included SUNY Fredonia, which provided living accommodations for a four-day tryout camp held at the SNI Cattaraugus Community Center in nearby Irving.
The Fredonia State student-athletes got the job done on the field and in the classroom. A total of 130 received recognition on the Commissioner's List. To earn the recognition, a 3.30 Cumulative Grade Point Average through spring semester was needed.
