Welcome to the Student Organizations page. Below you will find a list of a few Student Organizations that our majors are active members apart of. All Twitter, Instagram, or websites associated with Student Organizations are run by students. In no way are they affiliated, policed, or monitored by the Department of Theatre of Dance.
Alpha Psi Omega (APO)
ALPHA PSI OMEGA was organized as a theatre honor society for the purpose of providing acknowledgement to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in theatre and, providing a wider fellowship for those interested in theatre. The society is not intended to take the place of any regular theatre clubs or producing groups, but as students qualify they may be rewarded by election to membership in this society. The Fredonia chapter of Alpha Psi Omega (Theta Omega Cast) is dedicated to acknowledging the hard work ethic of those who have devoted themselves to the Theatrical Arts while achieving and maintaining a high academic standing in the university.
Fredonia Student Chapter United States Institute Theatre Technology (FUSITT)
FUSITT is the Fredonia student chapter of USITT (the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc.) USITT was founded in 1960 to "promote dialogue, research, and learning among practitioners of theatre design and technology." Every year, a conference is held to help students learn more, experience more, and prepare for jobs in the theatre design and technology field. At Fredonia, we meet weekly to prepare members for the conference experience, as well as hold our own workshops and events for additional learning opportunities. All who are interested in theatre design and technology are welcome in FUSITT!
National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA)
Membership in this Collegiate Program encourages students to explore dance education, pedagogy, choreography, performance, research, community outreach, and advocacy in the context of our broad dance program. In the same way it is a safe and supportive environment in which artists can also attempt to step into one of those roles that they have never tried before. It is also an event in which students from different areas of the department and academic years can come together and collaborate.
