This workshop is designed to enhance speech-language pathologists’ and adjacent practitioners’ knowledge and clinical skills in supporting individuals with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across school-based and clinical settings. Participants will explore current evidence-based strategies and intervention approaches while developing a clear “ADHD and Executive Function Lens” to better understand the impact of ADHD on communication, learning, and executive functioning. The presenter will share professional experiences and practical applications, as well as research informed strategies. Attendees will gain knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to effectively support individuals with ADHD.
Learning Outcomes:
1) Participants will examine how executive function deficits and ADHD influence the
behaviors of children and adults utilizing current literature and case study.
2) Participants will distinguish neurodevelopmental perspectives of ADHD from
common misconceptions based on current scientific literature.
3) Participants will apply strengths-based and evidence-based strategies to
treatment/intervention approaches for executive function skills.
