Fredonia's Department of Theatre and Dance offers students interested in Theatre and Dance the most comprehensive offering of degree programs within the SUNY system. With Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre, and Theatrical Production and Design, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts, as well as minors in Theatre, Dance and Dance Studio Administration, no other SUNY can offer you the range of experiences or opportunies that Fredonia can.

Our faculty are highly-trained and experienced teaching artists dedicated to giving students the best education and training. All of our faculty are professional performers, director, choreographers and designers who continue to be active in their fields of expertise.  Working side-by-side with faculty, students receive intense, personal mentoring as they progress through our programs.

Our production program is a vital part of our training process. All students have the opportunity to work on our five mainstage productions (The Walter Gloor Mainstage Series) in the areas of performance, production, and design.  Each season consists of four theatrical productions, as well as the annual Fredonia Dance Ensemble (FDE) concert.

An accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre, the Department of Theatre and Dance is housed in the newly-renovated and expanded Michael C. Rockefeller Center for the Arts.  This $36 million dollar project more than tripled the Department's available teaching, rehearsal, and shop space, including three new dance studios, two new acting studios, expanded costume and scene shops, a dedicated paint shop, computer-aided drafting lab, an expanded design and drafting studio, the Costello Multipurpose Room, and a new lobby to the Center's Marvel Theatre.
