Homecoming 2019 will feature several events for honored classes, the Homecoming Dinner with the presentation of the Outstanding Achievement Award to three stellar alumni, wonderful music and theatre performances, and the fourth Mini Maker Faire.
Homecoming is slated for Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20.
Spurred by the initial success of three large murals they painted a year ago at Dunkirk Specialty Steel, Erin Ruffino and Alisia Glasier, an alumna and current student enrolled in the Visual Arts and New Media program at Fredonia, returned to the metals producer last summer to undertake a more ambitious project.
Roland E. Martin, who serves on the music faculty at the University at Buffalo and is a graduate of Fredonia, will return to campus to present an organ recital at King Concert Hall on Friday, Aug. 30, at 8 p.m.
With an impressive score of 56, the foursome of Ken Drummond, Josh Harrington, Kevin Kaszuba and Rob McAfee, representing Comfort Pest Control, won the annual Fredonia Alumni Golf Tournament held on July 19 at Shorewood Country Club.
As he addressed the Class of 2019 at Fredonia on May 18, Dr. Shaun C. Nelms felt commonality with the graduates sitting before him in Steele Hall. “You will be expected…to leave a lasting impression on the world,” Dr. Nelms said. “I understand this transition too well…as a proud graduate of the (Fredonia) Class of 1999.”
