Having a Minor in Applied Mathematics can enhance the credentials of any graduate, especially those with quantitative majors.  It is particularly attractive to majors in computer science and physics.

The Minor in Applied Mathematics requires 25 credit hours of coursework distributed as follows:

  • MATH 122 University Calculus I

  • MATH 123 University Calculus II

  • MATH 223 University Calculus III

  • MATH 231 Linear Algebra
  • Three additional courses chosen from MATH 224, 322, 325, 329, 337, 359, 365, 375, 440; STAT 350, 351, 355; PHYS 425, 426; CSIT 241, 242; at least one of these courses must be numbered 311 or higher.

NOTES:

  • A student may not elect to minor in both Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
  • Students must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in the courses selected to satisfy the requirements of the minor.
