FSA Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The FREDCard is your campus ID card that will serve many purposes on campus. It will house your MEAL PLAN, FREDFunds Account. It will also give you access to your Residence Hall, allow you to check out books at the Library as well as many other services on campus.

Points are the declining balance portion of the meal plan. One point is equal to one dollar. Unused points from the Fall semester will roll over to the Spring semester if an appropriate meal plan is purchased in the Spring. You cannot use points to offset the cost of your Spring meal plan and at the end of the Spring semester any un-used points will be lost; refunds are not allowed.

A meal plan is a Non-Taxable account that allows a student to eat on campus. The meal plans are made up of 2 methods of payment MEALS and POINTS. Please see the Meal Plan flyer for more information.

Report it immediately that your FREDCard has been lost or stolen, online at www.myfredcard.com , or at the FSA office in Gregory Hall during normal business hours Monday-Friday.

We will replace your FREDCard the first time for no charge, all subsequent times after that a card will be $20. Replacement cards are available at the FSA Office and Convenience store. For more information please see the Terms and Conditions in the Meal Plan Flyer.

Yes, we have the following ATM’s on campus: M&T Bank, Lakeshore Savings and Loan and the Fredonia Federal Credit Union.

We typically see students choose plan 1 or 2. However, you should choose your meal plan based on a number of factors; including: How frequently do you eat? Do you eat breakfast regularly? Will you go home on weekends?

You will be required to choose a meal plan during this orientation session.

Yes, you can change your meal plan by contacting the FSA Office prior to using your meal plan. Once you have used your meal plan you may only go to a higher valued plan.

A Feed-A-Friend meal may be used to provide a meal for a guest at our All-You-Care to eat dining facilities.

No, Fredonia FREDCards are non-transferable and they are for the sole use of the person to whom it is issued. Meal plans can not be used to purchase food or beverages for another person's consumption.

No. Meal plans are not active during recess or break periods in excess of four (4) days such as Thanksgiving week, winter recess, spring break, and summer recess. FSA will publish hours of operation for pre-break and post-break periods that indicate which locations are open to accept meal plans.

Allowing another person to use your meal plan violates the Terms and Conditions of the University Meal Plan Policy. FREDCards presented in this fashion are to be considered lost or stolen and will be confiscated by FSA. An incident report will be filed to Student Affairs, a letter of conduct warning will be issued, and the incident will be documented in your Student Affairs file.

The FREDFunds Account is a Taxable account that is on your FREDCard that can be used for purchases at all of our locations. Please see the FREDFunds Account flyer in this packet for more information

You can always deposit money to an account, in amounts as small as $15, by visiting www.myfredcard.com , contacting the FSA Office.
