Named for one of the United States' original seven astronauts and the first person in space twice, Virgil T. "Gus" Grissom, Grissom Hall opened in 1967. It is a first-year coed, suite style residence hall featuring several living learning community options. It also features a smart classroom, game lounge, and a main lobby kitchenette. Grissom Hall is located in the Kirkland complex. Honors House is housed in Grissom Hall for students in the Honors Program.
